*Multi-age grouping is permissible. When child groupings consist of children three years and older, the staff-child ratio shall be based on the age of the majority of the children in the group. When three or more children under three years of age are included in the group, the required staff-child ratio for the children under three shall be maintained for those children under three years of age. **Smaller group sizes and lower staff-child ratios are optional and encouraged. Formal activity groupings are limited to no more than 20 children. |
