Assistance for Low Income Families (LIF)

The Low Income Families program provides Medical Assistance for families (adult caretakers with children) who meet the income and asset limits. 

The LIF monthly income limit for a family of four is $796 and the allowable asset limit is $2000.

Eligible families are entitled to full Medical Assistance coverage. Covered services include:

• doctor appointments,
• hospital stays,
• dental and vision services,
• prescription drugs,
• rehab/therapy,
• chiropractic services

Medical coverage may begin three months prior to the application date. The start of medical coverage is based on the date the application is received in the local office.
