Eligibility for Supplemental Security Income is determined by the Social Security Administration. Individuals qualifying for SSI are automatically entitled to Medical Assistance; therefore, there is no need for SSI recipients to apply for Medical Assistance.

Eligibility Requirements

  • An individual must be aged, blind or disabled.
  • Income and resources of the family are considered.

Covered Services

Individuals who are eligible are entitled to full Medical Assistance coverage. Covered services include doctor appointments, hospital stays, dental and vision services, prescription drugs, rehab/therapy, chiropractic, etc.
