The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Payment Program was established by the Health Information Technology Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009 to promote the use of Electronic Health Records by providers.
The Medicaid Electronic Health
Record Incentive Payment Program will provide incentive payments for eligible professionals and eligible hospitals for adopting (acquiring, installing), implementing (starting utilization of EHR), upgrading (expanding EHR use) or meaningful use of certified EHRs in the first year of participation and for demonstrating meaningful use for up to five remaining participation years.

Attention: South Dakota is currently accepting Stage 1 attestations for Program Year 2014 (Payment Years 1 and 2). Stage 2 attestations for Program Year 2014 (Payment Year 3 and beyond) will be accepted at a later date. Please check back for updates.
