A public hearing will be held in the DSS Conference Room, Kneip Office Building, 700 Governors Drive, Pierre, South Dakota on November 29, 2011, at 9:00 a.m., to consider the adoption and amendment of Division of Adult Services and Aging rules.
The effects of these rules will be to: repeal obsolete rules, update definitions, update and clarify eligibility requirements and covered services related to the home and community-based services waiver operated by the Division of Adult Services and Aging, update references, remove obsolete and unnecessary provisions, and remove obsolete and unnecessary references. These rules are being amended to update and clarify existing rules related to the home and community-based services waiver operated by the Division of Adult Services and Aging and to provisions regarding nursing facility level of care.
Persons interested in presenting comments for or against the proposed rules may do so by appearing in person at the hearing or by sending comments to Laura Ringling, Administrative Rules, Department of Social Services, 700 Governors Drive, Pierre, SD 57501. The effect of this rule will be to add the date of hire to the information that employers within the state must furnish to the state directory of new hires. This rule is being adopted to comply with a federal mandate.

The effects of these rules will be to: repeal obsolete rules, update definitions, update services that may be provided by programs to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, remove duplicative statutory language, clarify that a program may not impose income standards or mandate participation in a service as conditions of eligibility, outline standards for hotel or motel facilities or private homes that are used as shelter, and outline policy and bylaw requirements for shelter programs. These rules are being amended to update and clarify existing provisions relating to domestic violence and sexual assault programs.

Department of Energy State Plan FY 2012
for Home Weatherization Assistance for
Low Income Persons
This hearing will not address the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act Weatherization funds.
The Department of Social Services will hold a public hearing on the proposed FY 2012 Department of Energy State Plan for Home Weatherization Assistance for Low Income Persons. The hearing is to obtain final comments on the proposed plan.
The hearing will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011, 7 p.m. CDT, in the Conference Room at 912 E. Sioux Ave, Pierre, South Dakota.

Proposed Two-year State Plan
The Department of Social Services' Division of Child Care Services will hold a public hearing on the two-year State Plan for Child Care Services on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. CDT at the following DDN studio sites:
