Responsive Parenting Training and Class Information

Parenting training for parents and caregivers of children birth to age 3 is available in two formats: Responsive Parenting and Understanding Me Up to Age Three.  During each of these series, parents will learn about topics such as social-emotional growth, early brain development, safety, temperament and guidance.  Instructors have been specially trained in infant-toddler caregiving. Both series are available in different locations throughout the state and are free.

Responsive Parenting Series

Responsive Parenting is a six-week class series for parents with children ages birth to three years old and can increase the enjoyment and satisfaction of parenting young children.

The six-week series includes:

  • The Parent CHILD Relationship
  • Your Unique Child - Temperament
  • Responding to Your Child's Needs
  • How and What Your Child Learns
  • Parenting is Stressful and Growing Up is Stressful
  • Encouraging Your Child

Understanding Me Up to Age 3 Series

The Understanding Me Up to Age 3 is a four-week class series that helps parents to understand the world from a child’s perspective in order to respond in ways that encourage and enhance a child’s development.

The four-week series includes:

  • Why I Do What I Do
  • Keep Me Safe
  • How I Learn
  • Help Me Manage My Feelings
