The American Red Cross Safe and Well Web site also provides families with a tool to exchange welfare information with loved ones and friends in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. Those worried about the safety of a survivor can access the site, enter either the name and telephone. It is important to note that names of minors in American Red Cross shelters are not posted to Safe and Well without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. However, the American Red Cross will provide information to law enforcement or child welfare agencies in emergency situations if it is in the best interests of the child. Safe and Well is accessible to the public from the American Red Cross Website.
